Agar can be used to inoculate spawn, and to propagate further genetics, such as more agar cultures and liquid culture. Our agar cultures contain very pure genes and produce huge yields making them perfect for both novice and experienced mushroom mycologists.
Important Product Notes:
- Check the plate for contamination before use.
- Always wrap the plate with Parafilm when its not being used to prevent contamination from entering.
- Store in the fridge until you plan to use it.
- Perform inoculation in a sterile environment (Still Air Box/ Laminar Flow Hood).
- Agar culture can last 6 to 12 months (if stored properly).
- Cleanliness is extremely important for mushroom cultivation.

How Our Agar Culture Is Made:
Our agar culture media is composed of distilled water, malt extract, agar, and yeast, which gives the mycelium ample nutrients to grow thick and healthy. The media is sterilized and then inoculated in front of a HEPA-filtered flow hood to ensure contamination-free products. We use gen 1 genetics to inoculate all of our plates, giving you the strongest possible mycelium.
